De Castelli’s Folio table, designed by Draw Studio, has been selected for the 2024 ADI Design Index by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory. Each year, this index highlights and celebrates the best in Italian design. The 2024 ADI Index marks the first stage in the selection process for products and services that will be evaluated by an International Jury for the prestigious 2025 Compasso d’Oro Award.
Folio features a pure and precise form characterised by perpendicular vertical and horizontal planes crafted from sheets of brass, copper and steel. Equidistant metal sheets punctuate the shape of Folio, creating a dynamic interplay of shadows as opposed to light reflected on the horizontal surface.
The tables are available with both round and rectangular tops, thoughtfully designed to ensure comfortable legroom when seated.
The rectangular version of De Castelli’s Folio table, crafted from DeMarea brass, finishing realized in collaboration with designers Zanellato/Bortotto, is currently on display at the ADI Design Museum in Milan as part of the 2024 ADI Design Index exhibition, open to the public from 30 October. Following its time in Milan, the exhibition will move to the Spazio WeGil in Rome, beginning on 25 November 2024.
De Castelli invited the 31 designers who contributed to the Ornamentum project to a special lunch held in their workshops.
