De Castelli’s Vela wall cladding, designed by Gnosis Progetti, has been awarded with the 2024 Archiproducts Design Awards, one of the most prestigious events in the international design scene. Displayed alongside the best in the industry, Vela has showcased, through its multiple facets, all the potential and interpretations of metal. It is a true example of how design can continually reinvent itself, telling new stories through form and material.
The Archiproducts Design Award celebrates products that stand out for their innovation, quality, and design vision. The jury, made up of renowned architects and designers from around the world, awarded Vela for its ability to combine material experimentation with aesthetic refinement, reflecting the most advanced trends in contemporary design.
The Vela cladding system consists of pre-made and modular panels characterised by metal sheet worked in a way to mimic the visual effect of fabric blowing in the wind. The panels are skilfully shaped into gentle, light waves that evoke diverse reactions and emotions depending on the viewer’s perspective, resulting in unusual and unexpected coverings.
De Castelli invited the 31 designers who contributed to the Ornamentum project to a special lunch held in their workshops.
