De Castelli Milan Gallery
via U. Visconti di Modrone, 20 Milan
The site-specific installation at De Castelli gallery in Milan, originally presented on the occasion of Milan Design Week, will remain open until the end of May. The exhibition focuses on the unique collaboration between Antonio Marras and De Castelli, featuring a series of limited-edition artworks, designed and developed from the dialogue between material and artistic expression.
The exhibition La Geometria del Caos explores Antonio Marras’ personal interpretation of metal, shaped by an intuitive approach and a deeply expressive creative process. Drawing on the company’s savoir-faire as a new artistic language, the works take form as unique pieces that resonate with the contemplative rhythm of the exhibition, giving rise to new narratives and evocative stories.
When Marras first walked into the De Castelli gallery space in Milan, he immediately sensed that he was stepping into a place with history: indeed, it had been one of the most important galleries in Milan — and it had the potential to become a place where emotions are put on display.
From this sensation, Marras began to envision the rooms, niches and the large portal which opens onto Via Visconti di Modrone, where he placed two large guardian-like figures that encourage people to cross the threshold. Once inside, visitors are welcomed by other ‘characters’ which enliven the furniture: elements which contain, illuminate, support and reflect become an artistic ensemble which composes a syncopated setting.
