Public spacesIn Gent city center, an old temporary employment agency is transformed into a luxury clothing store, thanks to a huge renovation of both internal and external areas. High internal walls are covered in DeLabré stainless steel ‘’Scomposta’’, a special finishing made through monitored hand-made oxidation. They run following the external lines of the construction, creating an harmonious hole in which all elements reinforce each other. The warmest nuances are used also for clothes hangings and on the inside of display recesses covered in Copycat, a versatile typology of covering suitable for both floor and wall covering. DeLabré stainless steel finishing was chosen, illuminated by a warm and cozy light that enhances its most characteristic shades.
The distinctive metamorphic capacities of metal create their own stylistic patterns even on the simplest of monochrome surfaces. The possibilities offered by the Scomposta and Boiserie wall covering systems ensure a range of highly flexible compositional solutions and meet the needs of those seeking truly original expressive possibilities of the highest quality. Comprising panels of different sizes, the two systems are fully customizable. With the Scomposta system, the panels are mounted onto wall racks. For Boiserie, it is possible to install wooden or aluminum panels covered with De Castelli materials. Whatever the solution chosen by the designer, both systems allow maximum compositional freedom to ennoble surfaces of any size.
Copycat, an elegant hexagonal mosaic designed by architect Cino Zucchi, was created from the meeting among design, technology and experimentation. It is a covering designed to scenographically decorate prestigious environments, offering a medium with which one can transcend the usual design constraints. The geometry of the tiles takes up the natural shapes of honeycombs or ice crystals and contributes to the complexity of the design, whose uniqueness is rendered even more distinctive by the manual production techniques that belong to De Castelli know-how.
