Public spacesThe check-in and the gates counters, designed by Studio Gnosis and supplied by Arcadia for the first series and by Paolo Castelli spa in the technically advanced version, have been redesigned as identifying elements of the SEA brand. The design focuses not only on simple and soft geometries but also on the value of noble metals thanks to brass and copper coverings supplied by De Castelli that expertly treated them through oxidation processes and manual techniques. Counters are usually considered purely technological and operational made of cold or synthetic materials, but in this project they acquire a familiar image as if they were a piece of furniture of our homes. Besides the high quality of design and materials, great attention has been paid to the needs of operators and all passengers, thanks to a careful study of the ergonomics of the bench, without forgetting all the technologies needed for boarding operations.
The project scrupulously follows the principle of “universal design” where an equal accessibility is guaranteed for both able-bodied people and those with reduced mobility or the elderly ones (PMR). The sliding shelf is inserted into a side element whose shape incorporates the Sea logo, harmonizing with the counter and offering a pleasant image as a whole.
“A fundamental aspect for the making of this project was the great synergy among all the actors involved and in particular with De Castelli, that immediately showed great willingness to make this experience available through the artisan quality of its products, contributing to the achievement of a unique result in the context of an airport project.”
ANTONIO DE MARTINO – GNOSIS
The distinctive metamorphic capacities of metal create their own stylistic patterns even on the simplest of monochrome surfaces. The possibilities offered by the Scomposta and Boiserie wall covering systems ensure a range of highly flexible compositional solutions and meet the needs of those seeking truly original expressive possibilities of the highest quality. Comprising panels of different sizes, the two systems are fully customizable. With the Scomposta system, the panels are mounted onto wall racks. For Boiserie, it is possible to install wooden or aluminum panels covered with De Castelli materials. Whatever the solution chosen by the designer, both systems allow maximum compositional freedom to ennoble surfaces of any size.
