In the De Castelli showroom, a show dedicated to Tracing Venice will be exhibited. It is a tribute to the uniqueness of Venice and to the exquisite mosaics of the San Marco Basilica and is about the mutability of material and its evolution in time and space. The decor, interpreted by Zanellato/Bortotto highlights the rarity of a century-old artisan skill and the fragility of the Venetian context.
De Castelli translates this symbolic transposition into six extraordinary wall-mounted tableaus. The mosaics are made of copper, brass and steel that have been subjected to treatments of oxidisation, brushing and erosion. The tableaus are a superlative demonstration of the company’s expertise in the crafting of metals.
