EventsThe concept behind Material Home by Elle Decor, the 2024 exhibition curated by Elisa Ossino, is a synaesthetic path. It takes the visitor on a sensory journey through rooms which explore different materials, substances, characteristics and potential uses. De Castelli has decorated two rooms with a site-specific installation of wall coverings and with a light installation which is part of the 2024 collection. Organico is the orangery which represents a return to the land through an installation where almost primordial materials create a place within which to reflect on the sustainability of resources and the future of construction. In this intimate space, the feeling of nature is suggested by Light&Shade, the large wall light installation designed by Adele Martelli, in stainless steel with the DeDeep finish.
Superficie (Surfaces) is the large kitchen which blends different materials, sparking fresh dialogue between textures and geometries. The star is the large undulating wall, Vela, in brushed stainless steel, the result of biomorphic research which expresses the infinite potential of hammering, rounding and rolling techniques to give rise to shapes that are as soft and organic as fabric blown by the breeze.
Dawn and sunset are moments loaded with intensity and charm: a flow of light always in transformation, which oscillates in its intensity and colour. Light&Shade immortalises the precise time of the day in which the clear sky is reflected in a calm sea. Available in copper, brass and stainless steel, these large wall sconces conceal their light source, which softly radiates from the circumference to create soft ambient lighting, acting as a decorative element.
The Vela covering system includes predefined and modular panels characterized by metal sheets designed as if they were a fabric moved by the wind. Expertly shaped, the soft and light waves give life to unusual and unexpected coverings capable of provoking different emotional reactions and perceptions depending on the viewer’s position.
