FairThe exhibition at the Salone del Mobile presents the new covering systems: Cannetè and Plissé translate on an architectural scale the particular textures developed for the furniture collections of the same name, whereas Vela translates Biomorphic research with its softly wavy effect. The central gallery of the stand is dedicated to Ornamentum and displays the 31 works designed by as many designers and design studios, generating a constellation of personal and creative signs.

The journey continues by showcasing the new projects: the Flocks coffee tables, designed by Matteo Zorzenoni, are inspired by the sinuous and hypnotic movement of the flocks in the autumn sky and apply the erosion technique on the top; the Foliage chandelier and the Light&Shade wall lamp are designed by Adele Martelli as suggestive allusions to natural elements. Added to these innovations are the suspension version of the Aare lamp (Alexander Purcell) and the expansion of the collections: Folio (Draw Studio) with the Round table, Xilo (Delineo Design) with the suspended sideboard, Elizabeth (Nathalie Dewez) with the sideboard with two or four doors.

Project specifications
Vela wall cladding

The Vela covering system includes predefined and modular panels characterized by metal sheets designed as if they were a fabric moved by the wind. Expertly shaped, the soft and light waves give life to unusual and unexpected coverings capable of provoking different emotional reactions and perceptions depending on the viewer’s position.

Plissé wall cladding

The Plissé cladding system, inspired by Elizabeth furniture, features a succession of dense, uniform pleats. The special processing applied to predefined and modular panels gives life to a pleated covering that adds a touch of elegance to diverse surfaces. The interplay between rigour and sinuosity in the design creates a beautiful contrast.

Canneté wall cladding

The Canneté wall cladding system was inspired by the furniture collection sharing the same name. It aims to replicate the ribbed appearance on an architectural scale with the appropriate proportions and methods. Pre-made and easily combinable panels allow large vertical surfaces to be covered. The result is a soft three-dimensional effect accentuated by the alternation of vertical tubes in varying diameters. This arrangement creates a fascinating interplay of light and shadow.

Aare Ceiling

Aare ceiling is the perfect solution to experience enough brightness in every corner of the house. Characterized by metal elements with a particular design, the lamp takes inspiration from the natural erosion caused by the last ice age in the Aare Gorge, in Switzerland. Here, a river originated from melting glaciers once carved deep into the rock, cutting to its core. Thus, little by little, light began working its way into the cracks, amid ancient limestone stratifications. Thanks to a centre slit, these lamps take on the archetypical form of earthly geography sculpted by ice, reproducing its prehistoric beauty, as if they were forged centuries ago.

Folio

The pure, precise lines of this table are composed of perpendicular planes of equidistant metal sheets that punctuate the shape of Folio, giving rise to an interesting interplay of shadows, in contrast to the light reflected upon the horizontal plane. Available with a rectangular or rounded top, the base of Folio is carefully designed to ensure enough leg room while seated.

Light&Shade

Dawn and sunset are moments loaded with intensity and charm: a flow of light always in transformation, which oscillates in its intensity and colour. Light&Shade immortalises the precise time of the day in which the clear sky is reflected in a calm sea. Available in copper, brass and stainless steel, these large wall sconces conceal their light source, which softly radiates from the circumference to create soft ambient lighting, acting as a decorative element.
