The exhibition includes approximately 100 works, most of which were designed and produced in 2013. Movement variations, fairy-tale fragments, abstraction of the thought, illusions. That’s the view you have immediately, from the entrance, as the space dedicated to Ron Gilad has a long glazed door wall overlooking the Lightfall. This Tel Aviv Museum of Art wing, named “Herta and Paul Amir Building” and designed by the American architect Preston Scott Cohen, is new. Opened in 2011, some parts, as the restaurant and the second auditorium, are still under completion.
The exhibition curator of “The Logical, the Ironic, and the Absurd” (10/07-28/12) is the Art and Architecture director, Meira Yagid Haimovici, a determined, communicative, insightful and inquiring woman.
She moves along “her” museum with competence and deference and she is really excited to celebrate in his country the Israeli designer and artist that lives in New York, worldwide famous, in Italy well-known for his work with Flos, De Castelli, Molteni & C and the famous Dilmos Gallery. Yagid Haimovici explains:
“The museum carries out a crossover research, not only art, design and architecture, but intend to promote a platform to present and hint the design whose artpieces are strewn throughout the museum. We keep the same direction to bring the world of art closer to the kids. And Ron Gilad is an example of our aim to shed light on Israeli and international artists and designers that follows this direction”.
