Wall claddingThe project unfolds in Blevio, within one of the historic early-twentieth-century villas that overlook Lake Como. The apartment, set on the piano nobile, has been reimagined through a profound spatial transformation, shaped by an intimate dialogue with the client’s way of living and their relationship with the place. The kitchen has been divided into two distinct areas: a primary space conceived as a setting for representation, and a secondary one designed as a supporting pantry.
At the heart of the project stands a volume clad in brass sheets crafted by De Castelli — a sculptural presence that welcomes and gradually reveals itself as it opens onto the double-height space. Acting as both threshold and landmark, this element separates the two kitchens while gently guiding the movement toward the living area.
Significant structural interventions were also carried out to widen and raise the connections between the various rooms, with the aim of enhancing the penetration of natural light and, above all, allowing glimpses of the lake to be perceived even from the spaces located on the opposite side of the apartment.
The choice of this cladding system was driven by the desire to make it the true protagonist of the project — an element capable of enveloping the spaces and enhancing their luminosity, while deepening the visual and emotional bond with the surrounding landscape.
Engaging in a continuous dialogue with furnishings and architectural surfaces, the cladding assumes an active, generative role, shaping relationships, capturing and reflecting light, and intensifying the sensory experience of the interiors. The use of brass, selected for its material depth and changing reflections, further amplifies this perceptual richness, allowing the spaces to resonate with warmth, atmosphere, and subtle variations over time.
