At the Salone trade fair, De Castelli presents BIOMORPHIC, an exhaustive research into the lost techniques of hammering and creating convex reliefs from the late 19th century. Techniques given new life by De Castelli today to make complex metal shapes that would be impossible to create without the manual intervention of skilled workers. A process that is in continual development, which leads to the development of organic and natural, “biomorphic” forms. The new collections of furniture and furnishing accessories developed with the designers Adriano Design, Francesco Forcellini, Luca Pevere, Martinelli Venezia, Roberto Nicoletti, Elisa Ossino, Stormo Studio, Zanellato Bortotto will be on show.

TRACING VENICE
De Castelli Showroom Milan | Via Visconti di Modrone 20 | 06.06.2022 – 12.06.2022 | OPENING HOURS: 10:00 – 20:00

In the De Castelli showroom, a show dedicated to TRACING VENICE wil be exhibited.
It is a tribute to the uniqueness of Venice and to the exquisite mosaics of the San Marco Basilica and is about the mutability of material and its evolution in time and space. The decor, interpreted by Zanellato/Bortotto highlights the rarity of a century-old artisan skill and the fragility of the Venetian context. De Castelli translates this symbolic transposition into six extraordinary wall-mounted tableaus. The mosaics are made of copper, brass and steel that have been subjected to treatments of oxidisation, brushing and erosion. The tableaus are a superlative demonstration of the company’s expertise in the crafting of metals.

I GIGANTI
Re-Generation/Interiors > La Statale, University of Milan, Via Festa del Perdono 7 | 06.06.2022 – 13.06.2022 | OPENING HOURS: 10:00 – 00:00

For the Exhibition Re-Generation of Interiors at the University of Milan, the initial colonnade of the Cortile d’Onore provides the structure for a parade of characters celebrating the culture of Sardinia, birthplace of Antonio Marras, author of the I Giganti installation. The columns are transformed into divinities that protect, watch over and guide with their ancient knowledge. Originally stone, these 8 columns are dressed in metals thanks to De Castelli expertiese, which captures the spirit of the project and has expressed the forms of the “Giants” in layered sheets of steel, copper and brass, working them and enriching them with erosion techniques obtained through the special DeErosion finish.
