ORNAMENTUM
Artistic perspectives on metal erosion

With Ornamentum, De Castelli returns to the essence of decoration, emphasizing the deliberate slowness of manual gesture: aligning notions of chemistry, mechanics and art history to restore the authors hand to the engraving technique.
After Glyphé and Biomorphic, two distinct explorations of the forging technique and organic deformation of material, this year the research combines design and decoration based on experimentation.
Bringing industrial process and high craftsmanship together, De Castelli once again blends strategic vision and creativity: the result is a collection of copper and brass artworks that come to life through the strength of the project and demonstrate the versatility of this technique.
